Storytelling has always been part of who Derrick Christopher is. While growing up in a small town, his imagination was fueled by the diverse collection of books, magazines, paintings and artwork that were customarily present throughout his parents’ home. Surrounded by this bounty of inventiveness, he was inspired to learn photography and to tell the interesting and news-worthy stories of the people and places he encountered. This is still true today.

Earlier in his career, Derrick Christopher put his skills as an ardent storyteller to good use in newsrooms working as a beat reporter and photojournalist. Also, he has been a communications and marketing executive with PR and Ad agencies, as well as with organizations in government, entertainment, professional sports, travel, technology, consumer brand marketing, and manufacturing.

He earned his B.A. in Journalism, and studied documentary and street-style photography in Paris, France. He believes, however, his best education has been global travel, which influences his worldview, and enhances his appreciation of all humankind and its cultural nuances. Derrick Christopher has traveled to more than 45 countries across six continents.
